Biography of Martha J. Morrell, M.D.![]() Martha J. Morrell, M.D., is a professor of Clinical Neurology at Columbia University and is director of the Columbia Comprehensive Epilepsy Center in New York City. Previously she was on the faculty of the Stanford University School of Medicine where she served as director of the Stanford Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. A graduate of Stanford Medical School, she completed residency training in Neurology at University of Pennsylvania, as well as fellowship training in EEG and epilepsy. Dr. Morrell's clinical work is directed entirely to the care of people with epilepsy. Her research has focused on reproductive health risks associated with epilepsy. Dr. Morrell has served as a spokesperson to bring the concerns of women with epilepsy to the attention of the medical community. She has written and spoken extensively on the care of the woman with epilepsy. She has also served as an advisor on epilepsy to the National Institutes of Health, to the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Epilepsy Society. She is immediate past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Epilepsy Foundation. |
