I want teens my age to be sensitive toward people with epilepsy. I like the same things as they do and want to be treated with respect."

Andreas Wilkerson is an outgoing 15 year old with epilepsy. As a result of her condition, she has had to face discrimination from family members, classmates and some teachers at her school. She describes that time as "a very depressing period of life."

Andreas is eager to raise her voice in Washington, D.C., as an advocate in the 2006 Kids Speak Up! program and expand people's understanding of what it means to have epilepsy. Her goal is to promote the image of a person with epilepsy as intelligent, caring and capable.
