"Even though we have a harder time with everything, we should never give up on our dreams. Even though there's a chance they may never come true, they still might. Always be positive, have faith and be strong."

Nathan Shadid is no stranger to epilepsy advocacy and awareness. He regularly takes it upon himself to try to increase awareness at school, with his church youth group, with the Boy Scouts and even with various Girl Scout troops.

What drives him to do all this, you ask? Well, for one, he is discouraged by how society tends to stigmatize epilepsy. He feels the assorted social and school issues he has experienced in the past are unfair, so he has adapted a proactive approach geared towards educating the general public.
