KSU Participant Meredith Ehrhardt "I'm not dumb, stupid, or contagious. I am just as smart as everyone else."

Meredith is a young lady with a busy schedule. She enjoys dancing, singing and playing basketball and volleyball. She is an honor roll student who has won three awards for her colorful artwork. In addition, she was selected to participate in the Nutcracker ballet this fall.

As an infant, Meredith had her first seizure, and until she turned eight, she remained seizure-free. Her seizure activity increased while in school, which made it difficult to pay attention. Initially, the school was not sure what to do to help her, but eventually came around after intervention from a guidance counselor. They now provide flat screen monitors and other modifications to enhance her learning.

Meredith remains on numerous medications, but none have been able to control her seizures. She is excited about her trip to Washington to advocate for epilepsy funding.
