KSU Participant Elizabeth Bushey"My seizures only last for a few seconds. They won't hurt you."

Elizabeth is a caring 8 year old who enjoys volunteering her time to help others. Currently, she is selling teddy bears to raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina. She has sold more than 80 bears, and has collected additional funds from generous donations.

Since her diagnosis awareness at school has been difficult, but Elizabeth has remained committed to educating her peers about epilepsy. Last year during a puppet show to teach students about seizure disorders, she spoke to her classmates about her "staring spells" and discussed how living with epilepsy makes her feel.

Elizabeth is excited to travel to Washington to advocate for epilepsy funding.
